Payouts in USD for mining rewards
Last updated: 12 October 2026. Draft of 12 October 2026. Version label: usd-terms-draft-2026-10-12.
These terms apply when you choose to be paid in USD for the PRL that your mining with the Peryn pool earns. They are an agreement between you and Extra Watts B.V. (Herengracht 420, 1017 BZ Amsterdam, Netherlands; KvK 75938650), which runs Peryn. "You" means the person or organisation that controls the mining address or the Peryn account that makes the choice.
They add to our terms of service and our acceptable use policy, which also apply. Our privacy policy explains what we do with the information you give us here.
1. What it is
- If you choose to be paid in USD, Peryn buys the PRL that your mining earns when each block matures, and pays you USD for it with your other USD payouts.
- Peryn pays you from its own funds. You are paid by Peryn, not by any buyer of PRL.
2. When your choice applies
- Your choice applies at the next daily cutoff (02:00 UTC) to the shares you mine from then on. Shares mined before it stay PRL.
- You can go back to PRL the same way. That change also applies at the next daily cutoff.
3. Who can choose
- For a mining address: the person who controls it, by a message signed with that address on its payouts page.
- For a Peryn account: the account holder, in the miner portal.
- Where we allow it, for a mining address: the rigs that mine to it, with the setting usd=1 in their stratum password, under the rules on the address's payouts page. Setting it accepts these terms. [Counsel to confirm that a rig setting can accept these terms; until then Peryn asks for a name and country, which rigs cannot give, so rigs cannot choose USD.]
- When we ask for it, you give your legal name (or your company's) and your country of residence or incorporation. We use them to check the payout against sanctions lists and keep them as the record of our purchase of your PRL.
- We may refuse or end payouts in USD for a country on a sanctions or review list, or after a review.
4. The price and the conversion fee
- Each block converts at the first hourly PRL/USD fixing that starts after the block matures, less the conversion fee. Nobody chooses the hour.
- The conversion fee that applies to you is shown as a percentage of the fixing on your payouts page, wherever you can choose USD. Founding Miners have their own fee. When prices move fast the fee can rise, to at most the maximum shown on your payouts page; above that, the conversion waits.
- The fixing method is published, and each fixing is recorded so that it can be checked.
- The rate on your payouts page is an indication only.
5. When part or all stays PRL
The part of a block that cannot convert is paid to you in PRL, with the reason shown on your payouts page, when:
- the PRL/USD price is paused for six hourly fixings, or conversions were paused so that no fixing of your block's hours could be used close to its hour;
- buyers cannot take all the PRL offered at a fixing;
- you have no USD payout address, or your rig settings no longer show the choice;
- the conversion could not be completed in time for another reason.
6. Payment
- The USD is paid in your daily USD payout to your payout address, above the network's minimum and less its network fee, as for your other USD earnings.
- We do not pay while a payout is held for a sanctions check or a review, or while payouts are paused for safety.
7. No advice, no guarantee
Peryn does not advise you on whether to choose USD or PRL. The value of PRL can go up or down after your PRL has been converted, and you will not share in that change.
8. Changes and ending
- We may change the conversion fee or stop offering payouts in USD. A change applies to blocks that mature after it.
- When payouts in USD stop, everything not yet converted is paid in PRL. When they are offered again, your choice applies to the shares you mine from then on, never to shares mined while they were not offered.
- If these terms change, we publish the new version here with a new version label. A change applies to choices made after it is published.
